Whatever you think of American late-night telly, at least it’s advanced to the point where two of the more successful shows can be hosted by a South African and a Brit.
James Corden and Trevor Noah do come at things from slightly different angles, which is evident from the fact that Trevor has hosted his show from his apartment over the past year, sat in a hoodie.
His British counterpart, when not zooming around Los Angeles with Prince Harry, usually dons a suit, and there are more theatrics and pizzazz employed during The Late Late Show with James Corden.
On Wednesday, Trevor made quite the entrance on James’ show.
In fact, his entrance was so grand (and expensive, as it jokingly cost $367 000) that James threatened to boot him off the show altogether.
Prepare for loud music, confetti, and pure rock ‘n roll:
The real reason for Trevor’s visit is to drum up interest for his hosting gig this Sunday at the Grammy Awards.
He ran James through what a Grammy Awards in the time of COVID-19 will look like:
Clearly, Trevor has come a long way since his childhood here in South Africa, which the two also discussed:
We’ll know all the Grammy Award winners bright and early on Monday morning, our time.
Best of luck, Trevor. Do us proud.
