Netflix is currently hosting 204 million subscribers, and the number of people tuning in is likely much higher if you take into consideration shared accounts, and passwords handed to friends under the table.
Or so I’ve heard. I wouldn’t know anything about that.
Part of its appeal is the original content that the streaming service provides.
I recently watched Murder Among the Mormons, a Netflix original documentary that takes you on a wild ride through the history of the Mormon community in Utah, and the role that the infamous White Salamander Letter played in the Utah bombings.
Forbes rattled off some figures, from new research compiled by Hub, that looked into streaming platforms and their popularity.
Netflix wins by a wide margin: the percent choosing Netflix (29%) is five times higher than the percent choosing the second-ranked source (CBS, at 6%).
For those 35-years-old and up, 24% feel Netflix has the best originals, with no other source reaching double-digits.
Cool, so let’s see what’s on offer in the near future worth adding to the list, starting with The One, a series that asks “what if we could find our perfect partner through DNA matching?”.
The story is set five minutes in the future in a world where a DNA test can find your perfect partner, the one person you’re genetically predisposed to fall passionately in love with.
No matter how good your relationship, which one of us can honestly say we haven’t thought about whether there is someone better out there?
For the sake of your relationship don’t think too hard about that one.
Watch the trailer instead:
The One is airing on Netflix from March 12.
You’re obviously going to binge that in one session, so here’s another to fill the void when The One is finished.
Who Killed Sara? is described by Forbes as “a true nail-biter”.
There is a monster in every family and as this mystery unravels, it will become clear who that is. Alex is a man who was convicted of a horrendous crime he didn’t commit.
Finally, after 18 long years, he’s released from prison but the nightmare is far from over.
He’s looking for revenge and willing to take out anyone who gets in his way:
Catch Who Killed Sara? from March 24.
Sorry, you’re on your own from here on out.
These codes to unlock hidden content might help.
Happy watching.
