If you’re past the age of 25, then there’s a chance you’re a fan of brunch.
A late(ish) brunch is a perfect way to enjoy the day, some good company, and great food at a respectable hour, whilst still making the most of that lie-in.
By respectable I mean late enough for guilt-free drinking, but early enough to justify breakfast foods. It’s a win-win.
Choosing the right brunch spot, however, is central to the vibe, and if you’re looking for a recommendation, you’ve come to the right place.
On a handful of Sundays throughout the year, Anthonij Rupert Wyne hosts a special L’Ormarins Cap Classique Brunch on the terrace of the Anthonij Rupert Tasting room.
It happens on a wine farm, so you know we’re already off to a good start.
You’ll ease into the morning with a freshly roasted coffee from a local roastery, or a sampling of special Premier Cru teas.
This will take care of any residual sleepiness keeping you from taking in the spectacular views or making coherent conversation with your friends and family.
Then there’s the ultimate brunch experience consisting of a four-course breakfast paired with wines from Anthonij Rupert Wyne’s L’Ormarins Cap Classique range.
I’ve tried them all and the range can be summed up as ‘superb sparkling joy in a bottle’.
To add to the experience, the brunch is hosted by members of the Anthonij Rupert team, who will share insights into these Cap Classiques, so you’ll walk away with the knowledge you need to brag to your colleagues about the superiority of your weekend.
Bookings are essential, so let’s break down the details so that you can pencil in the dates, and secure your spot.

You have to be 18 or older to attend the brunch so this one is not for the kids. Book a babysitter and enjoy a day out – you’ve earned it.
When you’ve eaten your fill, and sampled some delicious wine, head on out to explore the rest of the estate.
There are plenty of activities to choose from including a visit to the Franschhoek Motor Museum, or some more wine tasting, if you plan on turning a morning brunch into the ultimate Sunday.
