Why is it that every time Justin Bieber shows up in the news, he’s doing something that makes me want to dropkick him?
I can ignore the lyrics to ‘Yummy‘, and the clothing line that looked like it was designed by a toddler, but now he has gone too far.
The Biebs texted CEO of West Coast Customs, Ryan Friedlinghaus, a video of a Rolls-Royce design experiment and asked him to find it.
The car in question was the automaker’s Vision Next 100 concept, or 103EX for short, which debuted in 2016. It’s completely undrivable, mostly because it looks more like a car cover than a car, and would be utterly destroyed when confronted with a speed bump.
So, according to Robb Report, because he wasn’t able to buy the car, West Coast Customs decided to make it by destroying a Rolls-Royce Wraith.
You can sit through a description of how they did it, which goes on for a while, or skip ahead to the 10-minute mark to see Bieber’s reaction to seeing it for the first time:
No.
We should probably delve deeper into how they made it a reality.
To achieve all of this, the team scanned the exterior of the Wraith and then used a 3-D modeler to create custom molds for the new body kit.
They then test fit the parts and modified them as needed to make sure the fitment was perfect. This long and complex process is more akin to classic coachbuilding rather than a standard body kit installation.
Why would you do that to a Wraith? There’s a reason that Rolls-Royce didn’t try to actually make the 103EX a driveable reality.
Granted, the inside of the car is less offensive:
To add insult to injury, it’s fitted with hidden light bars along the lower edge of the body.
It has under-lighting.
I’m done.
