Sunday was Valentine’s Day, so people were out and about with loved ones, having lunch and generally showing that they care.
Or, whatever it is that people do on the day.
Not everyone was feeling the love, however, especially in Sea Point, where a minor road accident between a suspected e-hailing driver and a car full of people turned ugly.
Cape Town Etc provides a brief description of what seems to have happened. Things really kicked off after the accident when the person driving the red car started “making their retreat”, at which point the man (the alleged e-hailing driver in the silver car) ran towards it.
The occupants of the red car then jumped out and we were left with a classic road rage scuffle.
A three-part video series was shared on YouTube by I’zaaz Mohamed, documenting the events as they unfolded, while an Instagram video of events with a close up of when things went south has gone viral:
Turn the sound up – at this point the driver of the silver car, having grabbed a scissor jack, is yelling “who wants to die?”
He then smashes the passenger window on the red car:
A close-up of that action from Shaun Pestana in that viral Instagram video:

Not a fan of the xenophobic, “you don’t belong here”, and racism coming from that woman.
To round it off, a word from Mohamed:
