If you live anywhere near the vicinity of Sea Point Promenade, there’s a good chance you know, or at least have met, somebody like Tali.
She was the star of Showmax’s breakout hit, Tali’s Wedding Diary, starring the likes of Julia Anastasopoulos, Anton Taylor, and Glen Biderman-Pam.
You can enjoy a behind the scenes look at the making of that show if you’re really after a trip down memory lane, but let’s focus on the trailer that dropped this morning.
Tali’s Baby Diary, the long-awaited sequel, is almost here, with the first episode due on February 26.
More from Showmax:
In the hilarious mockumentary, an unexpected pregnancy forces Tali (Anastasopoulos) into a desperate pivot from Insta-influencer to wholesome momfluencer, as Darren (Taylor) and Rael (Biderman-Pam) navigate the choppy waters of the Cape Town property game.
But as the nine-month clock ticks down, Tali and the boys are forced to face the bigger questions about life, love and parenthood…
Along with all the regulars, you’ll also see the likes of Coconut Kelz, Danny K, Schalk Bezuidenhout, Siv Ngesi, Kate Pinchuck, Nik Rabinowitz, and Shamilla Miller.
Enough waffle – to the trailer we go:
How very Capetonian of everyone involved.
Here’s Julia, talking about what sets this season apart:
“Season 2 is definitely weirder and wilder than Season 1,” says Julia, who is married to co-creator Ari Kruger, the winner of Best Director at the SAFTAs for Tali’s Wedding Diary.
“I joke about the fact that I’m glad that we got married before having a baby because the wedding just becomes so obsolete – it’s so distant in my memory, I can’t believe it was such a big thing in my life. It was just twenty-four hours, and having a baby is a totally different ball game.”
You can also check in on Tali’s Instagram here.
Again, the release date is February 26.
