The vultures who make a living taking pictures of celebrities without their consent have been on the hunt again.
Bridgerton, a popular series on Netflix – I’ve popped a trailer in below, in case you missed the hype – has elevated British-Zimbabwean actor Regé-Jean Page, who plays the Duke of Hastings, to new fame.
Also, because he’s attractive, a few people would like to know what his dating life looks like.
This creates a market for those blurry pictures that the paparazzi like to take from within a bush, hiding behind a pole, or from their cars.
The latest supposedly shows him, in the words of The Daily Mail, “tenderly holding his 30-year-old lover’s face before wrapping an arm around her”.
His girlfriend, partner, whatever, is a freelance copywriter and part-time footballer with South-West London’s FBB Warriors, Emily Brown.
This “embrace” was happening in a street close to the home that they share in North London.
They bought a home together in February last year, a few months after he finished filming Bridgerton.
The sleuthing continued.
In an interview with the student newspaper The Tab, about what she got up to at Manchester University between 2009 and 2012, she said:
“‘I managed to sneak a giant vase, about 75cm [30in] tall, from a club without anyone noticing, even though there were flowers poking out of it. I also decided I wanted curtains for my room so I stole a blind. And a guy from the band Faithless gave me a load of weed once when I was in Ibiza…”
Page once had purple hair and played in a band, which The Daily Mail sees as a sign that they’re perfect for each other.
Before Brown dated Page, she was with Jack Badu, a football coach who would accompany her to Dulwich Hamlet games.
Her colleagues on LinkedIn describe her as “witty” and “great fun to be around”.
We’re really scraping the bottom of the barrel here.
She’s also a human person who breathes and can walk upright. There’s a good chance she likes food and sleeps regularly.
That Bridgerton trailer I promised if you’re keen to watch the series:
As the stalking continues, I’m sure we’ll find out more about her in the coming months.
Personally, I hope they leave her alone, but I’m not optimistic.
