Breaking news – today is day 454 of 1 449 as world champions.
As an added bonus, I know it feels like we’re nearing the 100th day of January 2021, but the end is in sight.
You deserve a treat, as do I, so let’s take a moment to appreciate the hot-stepping magic of a certain Cheslin Kolbe.
Look away, Owen Farrell, Joe Marler, and that one English friend that was really, really lippy ahead the 2019 Rugby World Cup final.
We all had one.
Magic, every single time.
If you’ve ever wondered what was going on inside Kolbe’s head as he received the ball (thank you, Pieter-Steph du Toit, we will never forget your selfless act), then wonder no more.
During his appearance on rugby podcast ‘The Good, The Bad & The Rugby’ this week, the winger walked (stepped?) us through his thought process, and the moment he knew the Rugby World Cup was coming home with the Springboks.
What’s more, he’s describing it to two Englishmen, broadcaster Alex Payne and former English back-rower James Haskell, which adds an extra layer of enjoyment.
Cheslin, take it away:

Here’s the full conversation with Cheslin, which runs to almost 90 minutes long:
Once you’re done with that, why not make a day of it and watch Chasing The Sun again?
It’s basically the new 438 game, can be found on Catch Up, and is sure to air every single public holiday.
I’m not complaining.
Finally, let’s end with a try that doesn’t rival Cheslin for artistry, but did seal a last-minute win for Biarritz in the French second division.
Proof that five-pointers come in all shapes and sizes:
The French PROD2 is MAD!! 😳
Time up on the clock, Colomiers lead and this is how Biarritz grab the winning try. 😲 pic.twitter.com/zx7ibMM2pu
