As with most stories that reference it being the end of the workweek, I would like to offer my congrats on making it through.
If you’re not partaking in Dry January (or haven’t yet run out of booze supplies), I hope your evening plan includes a stiff drink.
For those whose Friday plans include tearing up, you’ve come to the right place.
Meet Boncuk, a very faithful pooch in the Black Sea city of Trabzon, Turkey.
She was spotted waiting patiently outside a hospital where her owner, Cemal Senturk, was being treated, after first following the ambulance carrying Senturk on January 14.
More from Huff Post:
She then made daily visits to the facility, private news agency DHA reported on Wednesday.
Senturk’s daughter, Aynur Egeli, said she would take Boncuk home but the dog would repeatedly run off and return to the hospital.
Hospital security guard Muhammet Akdeniz told DHA: “She comes every day around 9 a.m. and waits until nightfall. She doesn’t go in.”
“When the door opens she pokes her head inside,” he said.
There is a happy ending here, and it involves a great deal of tail-wagging and a very stoked owner.
It’s genuinely touching to watch, even if you’re a cat person:
Senturk has now been discharged from hospital, and returned home with Boncuk.
For those who are thinking about getting a dog or cat, please consider adopting from an organisation such as the SPCA or DARG.
