In 2018, Greta Thunberg started skipping school on Fridays to protest global warming.
She sparked a global movement and has gone on to put many people to shame, especially world leaders who haven’t done everything they can to halt climate change.
One of the leaders who seemed particularly upset by her mission to save the planet was former US President Donald Trump.
Trump tried a few times to have a go at Thunberg, who over the years has developed quite the track record when it comes to outwitting him.
Admittedly, outwitting Trump isn’t that difficult, but Thunberg did it in style.
The most famous exchange between them happened in 2019, when, following Thunberg’s powerful address at the United Nations Climate Action Summit in New York, Trump condescendingly tweeted this:
I’d link to the original tweet, but his account has been suspended, which is a constant source of amusement for me.
At the time, she trolled him by changing her Twitter bio to reflect the tweet:
Trump’s limited vocabulary consists mostly of the words “great”, “best”, “worst” and “sad”, so I doubt he understands sarcasm. The rest of the world had a good laugh, though.
Correction – he also knows “person, woman, man, camera, TV”.
Via VICE, there was a further exchange last year between the teen activist and Trump, after she was named TIME’s Person of the Year.
It starts with this 2019 tweet:
When Trump started tweeting baseless claims of election fraud in November last year, Greta was waiting:
So ridiculous. Donald must work on his Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Donald, Chill! https://t.co/4RNVBqRYBA

Yesterday, Thunberg weighed in with one final jab, referring back to the “very happy young girl” post from 2019.
He seems like a very happy old man looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see! pic.twitter.com/G8gObLhsz9

She knows how to play the long game.
Respect.
