Who needs another reminder that taking to our roads this festive season, after even one too many, is a potentially deadly idea?
I mean, nobody should need that reminder, but every year around this time there seems to a marked increase in the number of drunk driving arrests, so here we are.
The video below was captured on Sunday morning, on Stock Road in Philippi-East, and shows a Toyota Avanza ploughing into a number of pedestrians.
The timestamp on the video shows the incident occurred just after 10:30AM.
Tragically, one of the pedestrians was a baby, who was killed in the collision.
Four other pedestrians were seriously injured.
A warning that the video below is pretty graphic:

The Citizen reports that a 27-year-old man has been arrested for culpable homicide and drunken driving.
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but if you’re pissed up, get an Uber, or a Bolt, or a taxi, or walk.
Just stay off the roads.
