Like billions of others around the world, Bryn North spent a large part of this year confined to his home under lockdown measures.
Thankfully, for those of us keen to enjoy one of South Africa’s most beautiful stretches of coastline, the South African videographer and filmmaker did eventually hit the road once more.
Having documented life in Cape Town in the past, Bryn and his mates, Naude and Gustav, headed up the Garden Route and to the Transkei.
Here’s more from the video’s write-up:
It felt amazing to explore an area within South Africa I’d never been before and of course I had to take my camera with to remind myself how to use it again haha. We had our mate Ozzy’s Land Rover Defender to get us to some incredible locations by car, we hiked the coast lines and went up the Mthatha river by boat (probably my favourite part of the trip) while camping and staying at backpackers along the way.
It was a road trip to remember and I hope this video can show just a hint of what the experience was like.
Given that the Garden Route is now considered a COVID-19 hotspot, along with other areas in the Eastern Cape, this may be the closest many of us come to enjoying the stunning scenery for the time being.
Take it away, Bryn:
That’s a very decent road trip, gents.
