The Cizeta-Moroder V16T, commonly known as just the Cizeta V16T, is an Italian supercar which was built between 1991 and 1995.
It was created by automotive engineer Claudio Zampolli in a joint venture with music composer Giorgio Moroder, and dreamed into existence by the famous supercar designer Marcello Gandini.
He’s also responsible for the Lamborghini Miura, Countach, and the Lamborghini Diablo.
The specs on this car include a V16 engine mounted transversely in the central rear position, just forward of the rear axle, which shares a single cylinder block, and four-cylinder heads with gearing between them, providing a single output from the centre of the engine assembly to the five-speed transaxle.
The car can reach a top speed of 328 km/h and can go from zero to 100 in just four seconds.
The chassis is comprised of chrome-moly elliptical steel tubing, encased in Gandini’s sleek design.
It was the only product of the Cizeta company and just nine were made, so they’re pretty rare, and would be the crown jewel in any car enthusiast’s collection.
One such car enthusiast is the Sultan of Brunei, who was once known as “the godfather of excess”.
Last year he decided to change his ways, not by becoming a better person, but by implementing Sharia law that includes punishments such as death by stoning for adultery or homosexuality, or amputation of limbs for theft.
He also used to be the owner of a Cizeta V16T, but never actually got to see it up close. After the sale, it didn’t find its way to him, so it’s untainted by bigotry.
It is now up for grabs from Curated, a dealership specialising in vintage supercars, which snapped it up earlier this year.
Over to Business Insider:
Given its history and rarity, Curated is asking deep six figures for the car — $725,000 to be exact. And lest you think that the pandemic might have destroyed the market for ultra-high-end vehicles, car auctions have actually seen a boom over the last several months.
This particular Cizeta V16T is the only one finished in blue with blue trims and has just under 1 000 km on the clock, so it’s in very good condition.
Chances are that after this you won’t be seeing one on the market for a while.
