It’s been a solid 11 days since US major news networks announced that Joe Biden was the president-elect.

Of course, the current president is having a tough time dealing with the loss, while the rest of the world watches on open-mouthed at the farcical situation unfolding.

Donald Trump has bunkered down in the White House, with little to nothing on his schedule, although he did drive past the throngs of his supporters that descended on Washington DC en route to his golf course this past weekend.

Various names were given to various protest events, with White House officials saying attendee numbers ticked over the million mark, Trump saying it was in the hundreds of thousands, and local authorities saying it was more like 10 000.

From inauguration through the final, desperate flailings, at least they’re consistently averse to facts.

The most prominent event was titled the Million MAGA march, and as NPR reports, it was a laundry list of greatest hits:

Trump did not lose the election; it was stolen. Antifa is the nation’s gravest threat. Socialism is lurking around the corner. The coronavirus pandemic is hype. Children are being trafficked by a cabal of global elites. And the nation’s valiant, outnumbered police are under attack…

One man who has made a habit of venturing into the MAGA mayhem is Jordan Klepper, from The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.

His greatest hits video from past interviews with Trump supporters is an eye-opener, and the same can be said for his interviews this weekend.

The level of disconnect is quite something:

After spending years spoonfeeding Trump supporters half-truths and outright lies, those same supporters are now turning against Fox News.

The damage is done, and is still being done by the likes of Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity, but let’s go back in time for a jarring example of what we’re talking about.

This, from an interview conducted last June, outside the Democratic Debate in Miami, is a prime example of how the misguided simply parrot talking points fired off from the president’s Twitter account, and his favourite network hosts.

Watch this woman say she doesn’t like Joe Biden because of his big ego from the 50-second mark, and her response when presented with a fact that is inconvenient:

A brain turned to soup through what I assume is a combination of misinformation and day drinking.

Back to this past weekend’s march, and another snapshot of the general mood:

It’s put together by RT (Russia Today), which is pretty much a propaganda arm of the Russian government, but the supporters speak for themselves without any need for distortion:

Donald Trump will leave the White House on January 20, but he will never admit defeat, and his supporters won’t, either.

That should scare Americans on both sides of the political divide.
