I’m going to need you to chill for a minute ahead of Black Friday.
This year, it’s happening on November 27, and while there will be some legit savings and discounts, you’ll also find a lot of price trickery and mass psychological manipulation in the form of a barrage of adverts and spam.
The first thing that you need to know is that saving your money is the last thing on a retailer’s list of priorities (if it’s on there at all).
Stores that are starved for profit, especially those in South Africa under extreme pressure, do not plan on making a loss on the day.
This means that, while you might find a few bargains, you could also find yourself caught up in the hype of it all, and spending more than you should on stuff that you don’t really need.
The good news is that a bit of research can go a long way, so prepping ahead of time is a must.
You also don’t have to limit yourself to local stores, especially because we’re in the midst of a pandemic. Shopping in-store is going to look very different this year, and it’s safer and more convenient to shop online.
In fact, per CNET, you can get ahead of the pack if you’re smart, because Black Friday deals at some of America’s biggest retailers have been going on since mid-October.
Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart have all opted for early Black Friday deals, putting some of their best sales online.
Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart are massive retailers that offer everything from electronics to homeware to clothing, and, especially in the case of Walmart and Target, just about anything that you could imagine.
Pop these dates in your calendar and check them out:
Obviously, head back on November 27 for the main event.
And, I know what you’re thinking – shipping to South Africa from the US can be tricky.
There’s also the possibility that many of the products that you’ll want to buy don’t ship outside of the US.
Here’s a really simple solution.
Postbox Courier gives you a shipping address in the US, UK, and Hong Kong.
So, if you’re buying products that don’t ship to SA, or you don’t want to deal with the customs mess once it arrives on our shores, then just give that US address (which Postbox Courier gives you for free).
As soon as it is delivered there (often the same day you order, or the following day), Postbox Courier will grab it and bring it to you in South Africa in three to five working days.
It really is that easy.
Head on over to Postbox Courier’s website to set up your account, which is free, and nab yourself that international address.
