I know we often joke that the past week has felt rather drawn out, but eish.
The refresh button on that live US election vote counter has taken a serious battering.
But let’s take a break, please, and focus on something frivolous this Friday afternoon.
Movie and series trailers – sign me up.
First up, via The Verge, is Run:
Sarah Paulson stars in this creepy film about a mother who goes to great lengths to “care” for her homeschooled daughter Chloe, who uses a wheelchair. You may be shocked to hear that all is not as it seems and Chloe begins to piece together clues that suggest her mother is up to no good.
A plot twist? No way.
This one debuts on Hulu on November 20.
Do you like Bawwwston? Sorry, Boston.
If so, you may enjoy Wayne:
I heard the Boston accents as soon as I clicked “play” on this trailer and sure enough it’s based in Brockton, Mass., the story of a kid seeking to right wrongs and get back a car stolen from his late father.
Some of the same writers as Deadpool, so if that’s your cup of tea you may enjoy this, too:
Wayne will launch on Amazon Prime Video today.
We’ll pivot to a doccie next, Zappa, based on the life of the wild Frank Zappa. It’s nowhere near the first of its kind, but unlike many others, it has the backing of the musician’s estate.
Here’s NME:
The Alex Winter-directed documentary – set for release on November 27 via Magnolia Films – has long been in the works, and looks to showcase the life and work of the unclassifiable composer and guitar icon, Zappa, using never-before-seen home films, live footage and interviews from the Zappa archives…
On the film, Winter also said, “The film is filled with surprises for fans, but I think they will be most struck by the intimacy and a real sense of who Zappa actually was.”
Off we go:
So that’s three, and I think that’s quite enough.
Have a restful weekend. I’m aiming for 14 hours of sleep a day.
