It’s not exactly the most pressing matter of the day, but the Katlego Maboe saga rolls on.
We know the scheduled court appearance on Tuesday was a bust, with the prosecutor unaware of the case, and only finding out about it on the day via media reports.
Maboe was due in court for allegedly breaching a protection order that his former partner, Monique Muller, had taken out against him.
Muller also filmed Maboe admitting to having had an affair, and also accused him of giving her an STD, which has affected her ability to have children going forward.
It’s the second of those claims that has been refuted by Nikita Murray, who was named by Maboe as the woman he cheated with, in a statement issued yesterday via her lawyer, Vincent Bergh of Liquor Law and Business Consultants.
This from the Citizen:
“Our clients are very perturbed about the wild allegations flying around in the media, involving Mrs Murray and her family.”
The statement went on to add that Nikita had since undergone a medical test, which confirmed she has no STD.
“Due to these allegations, Mrs Murray had undergone a medical test to confirm that she has no sexually transmitted disease. The claims by Mr Maboe that Mrs Murray was the cause of him contracting the STD as accused of by the person who made the video, is therefore irresponsible and impossible.”
The statement added that Nikita and her husband have had to deal with a great deal of damage, due to the “malicious video”, but they remain happily married and their relationship “is stronger than before”.
Earlier in the week, details surfaced regarding further infidelity by Maboe during a trip to Kiev, Ukraine, when he was a Lay’s Chips ambassador.
It’s alleged that he slept with the winner of a Lay’s Chips competition after attending a football match in Kiev.
There is currently no date set for Maboe’s next court appearance.
