Tomorrow is Election Day over in the US.
I’m sure you knew that already. It’s impossible to avoid, and expect the wall-to-wall coverage to increase through tomorrow and into the next few days, as Donald Trump seeks to undermine an election result that looks to be going his rival’s way.
On that note, we’ll try and keep this one brief.
The FBI is now investigating an incident that took place on Friday, where Trump supporters surrounded a Biden bus on the highway between Austin and San Antonio in Texas.
As with anything coming out of America, there are two sides to the story.
A Biden campaign official said the vehicles attempted to “slow the bus down and run it off the road”, and law enforcement arrived to assist the bus to its location after 911 was dialled for assistance.
Trump supporters, and the president himself, think it was all in good fun, and they were just giving the bus ‘a Texas welcome’:

Here’s more footage from the incident, with a suitably macho soundtrack:
In the video below, you’ll see one of the trucks colliding with a vehicle driving behind the bus:

CBS News with more:
In a statement, the Biden campaign said that “rather than engage in productive conversation about the drastically different visions that Joe Biden and Donald Trump have for our country, Trump supporters in Texas [yesterday] instead decided to put our staff, surrogates, supporters, and others in harm’s way. Our supporters will continue to organize their communities for Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Democrats up and down the ballot, and to the Texans who disrupted our events today: We’ll see you on November 3rd.”
In case you missed the quote in one of the videos above, at a rally on Sunday, President Trump said, “our people, they were, ya know, protecting this bus … because they’re nice”.
Yeah, that’s definitely what was going on here.
We can only hope democracy is allowed to run its course, and America can start putting this farce behind them.
For some idea of what could happen following election night, here’s a particularly jarring read.
