For the past few days, Kim Kardashian West has been mercilessly dragged on social media, after she shared photos of herself hugging her sisters, throwing peace signs next to friends, and downing champagne while celebrating her 40th birthday on a private island in Tahiti.
The goal, she said, was to “pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time”.
Just an average gal, enjoying some expensive champagne on a private island amidst a pandemic. So relatable.
Head on over to her Twitter thread, if you’re keen to check it out, complete with this gem of a response from Scott Bixby, borrowed from Keeping up with the Kardashians:

Adding to the alleged ‘normal’ that Kim was going on about was her birthday gift from Kanye West: a bizarre talking hologram of her late father, Robert Kardashian.
Robert died in 2003, and before the hologram was most famous for two things – spawning the Kardashians and representing OJ Simpson during his 1995 murder trial.
Per The Telegraph, Kim described Kanye’s gift as “the most thoughtful gift of a lifetime” and a “special surprise from heaven”.
Uhm…thoughtful isn’t the word I’d use.
Check it out for yourself:
For my birthday, Kanye got me the most thoughtful gift of a lifetime. A special surprise from heaven. A hologram of my dad. ✨🤍 It is so lifelike! We watched it over and over, filled with emotion. pic.twitter.com/jD6pHo17KC

The dancing…
In case you had any doubt that Kanye put that together, I refer you back to the quote at the 1:33 mark:
“You married the most, most, most, most, most genius man in the whole world, Kanye West”.
Sure.
No one knows who created the hologram.
I’d keep it quiet if it was me.
