While many an event has been cancelled this year under lockdown, some have survived the chopping block as we head into summer.
With summer comes summer events, and if you’re looking for something to do this weekend, we’ve got you covered.
The Cape Town Gin & Tonic Experience, supported by Fitch & Leedes, is taking place on Saturday, October 31, bringing with it an unbeatable selection of gins for you to taste and enjoy in the sun.
As title sponsor of the experience, Fitch & Leedes prides itself as the understudy to greatness, accentuating the botanical character and subtle notes in handcrafted gins.
Understanding the time and effort put into perfecting a top-shelf gin, Fitch & Leedes tonics are made for the utmost purity in terms of quality and taste to ensure the best representation of what was intended by the master distiller.
I mean, what did you expect? There’s no point in sipping a quality gin if you’re going to ruin it with some swill posing as a mixer.
Moving on to the big picture.
At the event you’ll find some live local music to jam to, garnishes worth fussing over, and the very best gins to pair with your premium tonic.
Of course, the real question is how it’s all going to work considering 2020’s … let’s call them ‘unique circumstances’ so that we don’t ruin the vibe.
First, you won’t be getting through the door without a ticket, a mask, and some personal hand sanitiser.
The event is being held at the stunning Zevenwacht Wine Estate, which means that it is well-ventilated, with plenty of space for physical distancing.
When you arrive you’ll grab your Festival Gin glass before heading to the cash loading station to load money onto a Howler card (the event is completely cashless and contactless).
Once you have your Howler card sorted, take a stroll through the various gin bars where you can choose to purchase your gins as either tasters, singles, or double perfect serve G&Ts.
I’m a fan of the double perfect serve, but you do you.
Each gin is perfectly paired with the ideal Fitch & Leedes craft mixer and garnished with nothing but the freshest and finest accompaniments to complement each individual gin’s botanicals.
Tickets include entry into the event as well as a complimentary Festival Gin glass.

Here’s where you really want to pay attention. With a limited venue capacity to allow for sufficient physical distancing, there are only 500 tickets, so you’ll want to head on over to Webtickets and secure one sooner rather than later.
