Chances are you recognise the man above from his starring role in the OUTsurance ads on TV.
If not, you may know him as one of the presenters on SABC3’s Expresso Morning Show.
Since last evening, however, Katlego Maboe has been in the news for all of the wrong reasons, after a video where he admits to cheating on his partner, Monique Muller, was shared on social media.
Speaking with IOL, Maboe claims the video was filmed on August 24.
The woman filming the video alleges that Maboe gave her an STD, which has affected her ability to have children going forward.
Maboe and his partner have a child together, who was born in 2018.
Here’s the footage that has done the rounds, with things really boiling over from the 45-second mark:

This is not the first time Maboe has been involved in a cheating scandal. In 2016, he and Lorna Maseko were in the news when pictures from a Durban July afterparty that showed the two kissing were circulated.
In response to the video, Maboe took to Instagram and did not deny having had an affair:
Earlier in the week, Muller’s brother posted a number of allegations to his Instagram account, alleging that Maboe was abusive towards his sister.
TimesLIVE spoke with sources who claim that Muller “had applied for a protection order against Katlego, adding that she had also opened a case of domestic violence”.
Western Cape SA Police Service (SAPS) wouldn’t comment on that, for legal reasons, although they did confirm that a contravention of a protection order had been reported to Sea Point police.
Maboe claims that he wanted to handle the matter privately, telling IOL that “their relationship had gone downhill and that Muller was physically abusive towards him”.
Whilst the matter is being investigated, Expresso Morning Show has confirmed that Maboe will not be on the air.
OUTsurance has also confirmed that it will be removing all advertisements featuring Maboe.
The woman Maboe named in the video has also taken to social media, saying that she will release an official statement at some stage today.
At the time of writing, an official statement had yet to be released.
