There are car accidents, and then there’s what played out in Port Elizabeth on Monday.
This is a weird one, that ends in a trail of destruction, so buckle up.
A man crashed through a wall and landed in a swimming pool after his wife drove into him. She crashed into an adjacent wall.
When she ploughed into him, he lost control of his vehicle.
Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu provided News24 with more details:
“The man was stationary at a stop street when his ex-wife [actually his current wife] caused the accident. He landed in the pool with no injuries, while she sustained minor injuries as she hit a neighbours wall.”
A witness on the scene, who filmed the video below, says:
“Dude, literally, that oke there…seems like this f*cking lady, crashed into him bru, on purpose. His ex-wife.”
“Check out the back of his car, she moered the back of his car.”
For the record, and according to Jodash Pillay, the man’s brother, the woman and man are still married and she didn’t drive into him intentionally.
Watch the guy narrate the video anyway to get a look at the scene of the accident:
Do you even check the facts before posting videos to social media, bru? Never skip ‘fact-checking’ day.
Pillay says that the man was on his way to work at the company that he co-owns with his wife, who left at the same time to go grocery shopping.
She then blacked out behind the wheel, due to a medical condition, causing the accident.
Pillay’s company lawyers will be dealing with anyone posting misinformation on social media.
“People on social media are being heartless…it’s obviously defamation of character because it makes the woman look bad,” he said.
Both husband and wife are doing fine, albeit probably a little shaken.
