Those sporting Android phones have been tinkering with their home screens for years.
I guess you have to do something to make them more appealing.
Sorry if that sounded nasty – I’m a diehard Apple fan and viciously brand loyal.
With the latest update on iPhones, iOS 14 (which I am loving, by the way), a designer who goes by ‘Traf’ found a way to customise the home screen, with a new minimalist design that people are loving.
It’s all about minimalism these days.
Traf showed off his new home screen on Twitter, and after an overwhelmingly positive response from iPhone users, decided to package and sell his design.
He told the BBC that he “produced the right content, at the right time”, which was then boosted by YouTuber Marques Brownlee.
Brownlee has upwards of 12 million subscribers so that’s a pretty big deal.
Since there was “no notion of what an iOS icon set should be priced at”, he decided to charge $28 (£22) for the set.
“I knew when I woke up the day after posting my icons for sale that they were going to do well, since I made a few grand in my sleep,” he told the BBC.
He has now accumulated more than $140 000 (R2,3 million) selling his icons to more than 5 000 customers.
A visit to Traf’s website shows four colourways and instructions on how to purchase and download the icons and install them on your iPhone.

A step-by-step guide to adding custom icons to iOS 14:
It’s a lengthy process, but at the end of it, you’ll have a new home screen.
The iOS 14 update already brought with it a new slick interface that simplifies the way that you interact with the apps on your iPhone.
It’s a whole new look and feel, with some new widgets thrown into the mix.
