As things stand, Melania Trump has bigger worries than Christmas decorations.
She is currently being treated for COVID-19 after testing positive, and won’t be shuttled around by Secret Service agents, unlike her husband.
Not putting lives at risk unnecessarily – tick. Not seeing Donald for a few days – also tick.
As we have already learnt from Melania’s former friend Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, who is currently punting her new book, Melania & Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship With the First Lady, the first lady feels really hard done by.
She signed up to marry Donald, and the idea of living in the White House would have been far-fetched at best, but there she is.
First, she taunted “the liberal media” by wearing that infamous jacket when visiting a children’s detention centre, and now the latest secret audio recording from Winston Wolkoff shows she was angry about the press reaction to that visit.
Here’s some of that recording:
In secretly recorded audio, Melania Trump says about reporters asking her about kids separated at border: “Give me a fucking break.” She assails the “liberal media,” says she doesn’t want to do a story on Fox, and adds, “Who gives a fuck about Christmas stuff and decorations?” pic.twitter.com/Ia2U2WmzN5

Former President Barack Obama’s policy of separating children from their parents involved doing so only in rare circumstances, whilst President Trump’s “zero tolerance” policy has created a blanket separation practice in order to prosecute parents.
In response to the recording, reports W Mag, the first lady’s spokesperson, Stephanie Grisham, said that “secretly taping the first lady and willfully breaking an NDA to publish a salacious book is a clear attempt at relevance”.
Grisham added that the timing of the audio being made public was “suspect”, and labelled Winston Wolkoff’s behaviour as an “exercise in self-pity and narcissism”.
She should swing past Donald’s Twitter account at some stage. She may be shocked by what she finds.
