On December 29, 2013, Michael Schumacher suffered a near-fatal accident whilst skiing in the French Alps.
Ever since then, speculation regarding his health has been ongoing.
Sometimes it’s good news, and he’s responding well to treatment, and an update from July of last year was similarly optimistic.
On the flip side, where there is a void of confirmed information, any mention of Schumacher’s health is pounced upon and picked apart, and that’s certainly the case with the latest story doing the rounds.
Italian model and TV presenter Elisabetta Gregoraci is currently appearing on the country’s Big Brother reality show, and she claims to have inside knowledge of the Ferrari legend’s condition.
To add a little weight to her claims is the fact that she is the ex-wife of Flavio Briatore, who was Schumacher’s former boss at the Benetton F1 team before he made the switch to Ferrari.
Gregoraci and Briatore split in 2017.

Gregoraci [below] said during an episode of Big Brother Schumacher was moved from his home in Switzerland into a luxurious property on the Mediterranean island of Majorca, which has been transformed into a hospital — with only a few visitors allowed.
According to reports by local Spanish publications, Schumacher’s wife Corinna bought the villa — located on a huge estate on the south-west of the island — from Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
“Michael doesn’t speak, he communicates with his eyes,” Gregoraci said. “They moved to Spain and his wife has set up a hospital in that house.
“Only three people can visit him and I know who they are.”
Gregoraci isn’t alone in believing that Schumacher isn’t in great health. As part of a documentary that aired on French TV earlier in the month, leading neurosurgeon Erich Riederer said Schumacher was in a “vegetative state” and was “awake but not responding”.
It is not known how he would be privy to this information.
One man who is known to have a relationship with Schumacher’s family is former Ferrari boss Jean Todt. He says he saw the former world champion earlier this month:
“He is fighting,” Todt [below, with Schumacher] said.
“My God, we know he had a terrible and unfortunate skiing accident which has caused him a lot of problems. But he has an amazing wife next to him, he has his kids, his nurses, and we can only wish him the best and to wish the family the best, too.
“All I can do is to be close to them until I am able to do something, and then I will do it.”
Schumacher’s wife Corinna, along with the rest of the family, is clearly very guarded when it comes to disclosing any information about his condition, and access to the 51-year-old’s Lake Geneva home is kept to a minimum.
How an Italian model and TV presenter would come to know details about Schumacher’s health is beyond me, and given that she dished out bad news, I sincerely hope they’re untrue.
