Yet again, I must ask you to prepare yourself for some silliness on the part of the media as they analyse, in great detail, members of the Royal Family.
The first thing that you need to know is that it was Harry’s birthday on September 15, and he is now 36 years old.
Royals age, too. They’re just like us…so relatable.
Even more relatable is that William and Kate decided to mention Harry in a post on their own official Twitter account, complete with a photo and a few emojis.
In the land of the commoners, this usually happens on Facebook with a rambling diatribe about how special the birthday-haver is to the person posting the status update
William and Kate are both British and royal, so we can’t rely on them for too much emotion.
That post for your consideration:
Wishing a very happy birthday to Prince Harry today! 🎂🎈 pic.twitter.com/Y8BDRzixGs

Seems innocuous, right?
Except that Meghan is missing.
Or rather “noticeably missing”, according to The Daily Beast.
Speculation is rife that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are throwing some serious shade.
William and Kate, according to mysterious insiders, are unhappy with Meghan and Harry for signing a deal with Netflix to “do a wide range of entertainment”. The ‘entertainment’ on offer has yet to be revealed.
While the deal has been widely reported as being valued at $100 million, industry insiders say the initial down payment, while substantial, is more likely to be in the $10 million-$20 million range. The Sussexes would have to create hit after hit to reach the full $100 million bounty.
The Queen was not consulted and is not amused.
The Royals are also unhappy with Meghan’s political activism.
Which brings us to The Crown, the Netflix series about the Royal Family, which takes liberties with their history.
While its creators publicly insist that the series should not be understood as a literal history of the Royal Family, that’s a lot to expect from some viewers who can’t separate fact from fiction when it’s on a television screen.
“They [the Royal Family] are furious. They [Meghan and Harry] are in bed with the enemy. Netflix uses the Royal Family to promote entertainment that has no foundation in fact. They also had no knowledge of the deal beforehand, and they are just very annoyed by the way Harry and Meghan are not abiding by the agreement that they made just a few months ago not to do anything that would embarrass the family.”
“People are mightily pissed off. Harry and Meghan seem to say, ‘Oh yes, we will agree to do things that way,’ then they completely ignore it and do as they please. It’s what they have done all along. They are extremely hypocritical. They are ace practitioners of the double standard.”
There’s a feeling that the portrayal of Prince Philip in the show, in particular, has been very harsh.
Honestly, they’ve left out a lot.
If they started scripting some of the things he has said over the years, they’d have to put a content warning in the opening credits.
I’m sure more than a few people are happy about the Netflix deal, while others will dig their heels in, wave the British flag, and declare allegiance to Queen and country.
Then everyone will forget about it and move on to the next scandal.
Also, when are these palace insiders going to voice concern about how angry everyone is with Prince Andrew?
