Happy Friday, friends.
The weekend is almost upon us, and as a bonus bit of joy, a reminder that the workweek that follows is only four days long.
Bring on the Heritage Day celebrations. I’m ready.
Speaking of Heritage Day, President Ramaphosa, in his speech on Wednesday, asked us all to mark the occasion in a very specific way: the ‘Jerusalema’ Dance Challenge.
If you’ve somehow missed it, it’s a viral global dance challenge, performed to the hit song ‘Jerusalema’ by South African musician Master KG, featuring the voice of Nomcebo Zikode, that has some serious staying power.
I expected it to fizzle out weeks ago, but it’s still going, and even caught the attention of Cristiano Ronaldo recently.
Joining in on the challenge this week was the Wild Is Life Trust’s Zimbabwe Elephant Nursery (ZEN), a sanctuary for injured wildlife based in Harare.
This time it came with a bit of a twist, and it’s adorable.
Per TimesLIVE, the video shared to ZEN’s Facebook page and Instagram account, shows the staff at the nursery dancing alongside elephants and giraffes.
Take it in, you’ve earned it:
You can also watch it on Facebook here.
It doesn’t get more wholesome than that.
