Pluck a subject out of thin air, and there’s a high probability that Liam and Noel Gallagher have had, or will have, a fight about it.

Consider that last year Noel said he liked his mother up until she gave birth to Liam, and it’s clear that there’s no love lost.

You can dive deeper into the history of the feud between the brothers here, but let’s see what’s caused the latest round of name-calling and mud-slinging.

Of course, it’s face masks.

Noel, like those awfully misinformed Americans we featured recently, refuses to wear a mask because it violates his liberties, reports the Guardian:

Speaking on the Matt Morgan podcast, the former Oasis guitarist said: “It’s not a law. There’s too many fucking liberties being taken away from us now … I choose not to wear one. If I get the virus it’s on me, it’s not on anyone else … it’s a piss-take. There’s no need for it … They’re pointless…Why do you have to wear one when you’re having a fucking haircut, but you don’t have to wear one in the pub?” he added.

He referred to Morgan, who argued in favour of mask wearing, as a “cowardly germophobe”.

Some of the UK’s regulations around what is and isn’t allowed have turned farcical, but face masks work. Come now.

Who wants to tell Noel that you wear a face mask to prevent infecting other people, because you’re concerned that you might be an asymptomatic carrier?

Also, when you’re reckless, you endanger lives. A wedding in Maine which turned into a ‘superspreader’ event has been linked to seven deaths, and none of those seven people attended the wedding.

Noel’s not the only British musician who has a healthy disdain for science, with Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown tweeting this earlier in the month:

I dunno, it’s almost like we shouldn’t take advice on stuff like curbing the spread of a virus from musicians.
