Some golfers spend their entire lives dreaming of a hole-in-one.
Rocco Figaretti ain’t one of them, because the four-year-old already has an ace to his name.
Sure, the haters might say it was only a par-three course, or a mashie, but I’d like to see you head to the River Club and pop your ball into the hole from the tee box.
To add another feather to Rocco’s cap, he aced the very first hole at the Oglebay Resort’s par-three course, in West Virginia (take me home, country road), and his father Mario filmed the entire thing:
A rather more restrained reaction than most adults, because I would have done at least 10 Tiger Woods-esque fist pumps the moment the ball dropped.
According to the US National Hole-in-One Registry, the odds of a casual golfer making a hole-in-one are 12 000 to one.
More from RW:
“He practices all the time In the yard. To say I’m proud would be an understatement,” Mario wrote.
As Rocco had been practising for months, they decided to go to the West Virginia golf course to try the real shot. Rocco’s shot was a success, which stunned both Mario and his brother-in-law, who had accompanied the toddler.
“He swings right-handed with a left-handed grip and it works for him, so I don’t think we’re going to switch it,” Mario Figaretti explained.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Given that the legal drinking age in West Virginia is 21, I reckon Rocco was off the hook for buying everybody in the clubhouse a drink at the conclusion of the round.
