So, you don’t want to live in Cape Town itself, but you don’t want to be too far from the action?
Hermanus might be a decent bet, then, and there’s the added bonus of some cracking sea views with plenty of whale action.
Just the small matter of rustling up the R35 million for this 10-bedroom, 550 m² house in Westcliff, which has long been dubbed Ocean’s Eleven.
I don’t think the name is derived from the fact that the house has 11 bathrooms, but it’s nice to know you’ll be able to find an open loo whenever you need.
Here’s more from the Pam Golding listing:
The Famous Ocean’s Eleven is an olde world guest house positioned at the oceans edge on a double plot. Mesmerizing ocean views from every light filled and inviting room.
Impressive and distinguished Architecture perfectly combines with yesteryears elegance and style. High ceilings, teak floors, high sash windows and original fire places mixed with intriguing decor and design makes this a true gem.
Beautifully appointed and luxurious bedrooms, all with an all-embracing sea view over Walker Bay, mixed with impressive living areas that compliments the grace that has been retained to this day.
Recently voted in The London Times as one of the top 20 views in the world (with a room).
That view isn’t half bad.
Rather than show you more photos, let’s enjoy the video tour below:
While you’re in the ‘hood, you could also pop past Markus Jooste’s house and leave some derogatory messages on his walls, like some of his disgruntled neighbours did back in the day.
