On many lists of South Africa’s most expensive streets and suburbs, you’ll find Beachyhead Drive.
Get your name on a title deed in the area, and you have some decent bragging rights.
The Beachy Head area (not Beachyhead, apparently, which is confusing) now has a listing on Seeff Properties, and it’s somewhat surprising to see a five-bedroom house in the area go for just the R12,5 million.
We say ‘just’ with a pinch of salt, of course.
Anyway, the listing says “this spacious and lovely home on Plettenberg Bay’s Beachy Head Drive is in excellent condition and has stunning views of the ocean and Tsitsikamma Mountains”, and the “interior thatch, wood and earthy tones make this a down-to-earth rustic paradise”.
When upwards of 12 bar buys you something “down-to-earth”, you know you’re in an expensive neighbourhood.
A brief overview of the write-up with some pictures:
Upon entering on ground level, the large central area is an open plan living area with lounge, huge fireplace, dining area with the smaller downstairs kitchen tucked to one side. Large glass doors lead to the pool and garden area. From the living area, several doors lead to four generous en suite bedrooms….
The kitchen is generous and boasts a well-proportioned scullery and laundry.
Up the stairs is the study with its splendid views as well as the games room with a pool table. The games room leads out onto a sundeck where the view can truly be appreciated. The garage is directly accessed from downstairs and the garden is immaculate…
Truly an exceptional property and certainly worth viewing. Extras include Jetmaster, regular braai, pizza oven and salt water pool.
I assume the extras come included in the R12,5 million price tag.
Shall we take a video tour?
How’s that music? Can we call it country?
Either way, it looks like a great hosting home, complete with a games room nogal, and easy beach access.
