Women’s Day isn’t just about enjoying a long weekend.
It commemorates the 1956 march of approximately 20 000 women to the Union Buildings in Pretoria to petition against the country’s pass laws, which required South Africans defined as “black” under The Population Registration Act to carry an internal passport, known as a pass.
South African women are made of strong stuff and it’s that strong stuff that shaped our democracy.
We’re also just awesome on all fronts and deserve a day of celebration.
While I know we’ve all been confined to the house for the last while, there’s no day better than Women’s Day to grab your girls, take a break from the kids, partner, or the cat, and head out to a much-needed brunch.
If you’re not sure where to go, Café Caprice wants you to join them for brunch or lunch (or both, why not make a day of it?), on Sunday, August 9, complete with a complimentary Lautus Virgin Mimosa.
It’s not the bubbly you’d usually knock back, but these are the times we live in.
You’ll want to book a table as soon as possible – we know from experience that they fill up fast at Café Caprice.
Make your booking by giving them a call on 060 651 4109.
Café Caprice is fully compliant with all of the COVID-19 advanced alert level 3 rules for restaurants, and all precautions have been taken to ensure the safety of customers and staff.
So, that’s Sunday, August 9, for a mid-morning feast.
See you there!
