There’s an anecdote that not many are familiar with about the origins of Lamborghini.
Ferruccio Lamborghini was an entrepreneur in the tractor sector before making luxury cars. It is said that the real driving force behind the automobile factory was an animated discussion he had with Enzo Ferrari.
Ferrari claimed that Lamborghini, who owned two Ferraris, didn’t know how to drive his cars, to which he responded that he would never drive them again, “from now on I’ll make my own cars”.
Since then, Lamborghini has become one of the premier manufacturers of both luxury and racing cars, the latest of which is the Essenza SCV 12, a limited edition powerhouse made for track use only.
Here’s CelebreMagazine with the specs:
Powered by racing-derived engineering solutions, the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 finds its beating heart in a V12 of over 830 hp with dynamic supercharging at high speeds. The exhaust tailpipes have also been designed in collaboration with Capristo and reduce backpressure to improve performance.
Alongside this unit works a new 6-speed X-trac load-bearing gearbox, placed transversely at the rear and combined with rear-wheel drive. At the same time, the power-to-weight ratio is 1.66 kg/hp: a result also obtained thanks to a carbon fibre monocoque chassis.
The Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 also adds the following to the list: the push-rod rear suspension installed directly on the gearbox; Pirelli slick tyres and 19-inch magnesium wheels at the front and 20-inch wheels at the rear, behind which are Brembo Motorsport brake discs and callipers.
The company is only making 40 of these supercars, which they recommend you keep in their warehouse. The reason? Unless you’re a racer, the only way you’ll be able to really experience everything that the car has to offer is via webcam.
Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 customers will join an exclusive club that will give access to driving programs to drive their hypercar on all the most prestigious circuits in the world.
The program includes storage service in a new hangar built in Sant’Agata Bolognese for the Essenza SCV12 club.
Each car will have a personalized box and dedicated services, including webcams, to allow the customer to control their car 24 hours a day via app.
She’s a beauty:
The track calendar is set to start in 2021 with “arrive and drive” events. The Squadra Corse technical staff will assist owners with tutorials.
It’s an interesting concept.
Ferrari is going to have a tough time competing with this.
