Boris Johnson hasn’t covered himself in glory with regards to his government’s COVID-19 response.
However, one of the things he was praised for, when he first took office as Prime Minister, was pushing policy that would allow illegal immigrants who have been in the UK for an extended period of time the right to remain indefinitely, naturalise, and integrate into British society, and therefore enjoy the same rights as British citizens.
This was met with a fair degree of backlash from conservatives who said that it would “send the wrong message” to those looking to leave often dire circumstances in their own countries to come to the UK.
Johnson has now outlined a post-Brexit ‘points-based system‘ which, when implemented in January next year, will see Britain’s borders closed to ‘non-skilled’ workers.
The fight over how to handle immigrants, both legal and illegal in the UK, has been the source of political upheaval between the Labour and Conservative parties, with internal disagreements in each party breaking out as well.
Meanwhile, little credence is given to why people leave their home countries to live elsewhere, even if it means risking their lives or imprisonment to do so.
It can be summed up in one word: Desperation.
But I digress. Let’s get to the story at hand with Sky News:
A British family found two migrants hiding in the luggage box on the roof of their car while driving through France.
The family stopped at a service station on the A29 in Normandy when they heard a noise coming from the box, France Bleu radio reported.
When they opened the box, they found this:

The migrants, both 16 years old, were from Eritrea and Guinea, and had chosen the car because of its British number plates. They had hoped to reach the UK.
However, the British couple and their two children had just arrived in France and were driving towards their holiday destination upon discovering the migrants.
Local police caught the young boys, who have now been released.
The couple has since filed a complaint for theft because their luggage had been removed from the box.
