The trailer for Bill & Ted Face the Music dropped last month, and for fans of the iconic late 80s and early 90s movies, the long wait was finally over.
As with most big releases these days, you’re usually treated to a few leaked photos, and then a teaser trailer, and then an actual trailer, and then a follow-up trailer, which is where we’re at now.
Trailer number two is here, and Bill S. Preston Esquire and Ted Theodore Logan are at it again.
A very brief synopsis before we dive in – “a visitor from the future tells best friends Bill and Ted that one of their songs can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe”.
Whoa, man:
The movie is due for release in US theatres on August 21, although you would guess that date is subject to change due to COVID-19.
Next up is Dave Franco’s directorial debut, The Rental, which Rolling Stone gave a four-star review.
Here’s part of that write-up:
A diabolically clever script by actor-turned-director Dave Franco and mumblecore pioneer Joe Swanberg, The Rental has a simple premise: Take two couples with volatile sexual dynamics, have them rent an Airbnb for a weekend on the rugged Oregon coast, mix in secret cameras and the presence of a peeping psycho, and spike the steadily-building suspense with psychological insights…
Over 88 vise-tightening minutes, The Rental never lets up on your nerves. But it’s the human betrayals that cast the longer shadows, the ones that keep you up nights.
Spooky.
Remember a time when you could rent an Airbnb apartment for leisure travel? Those were the days:
The Rental came to Video On Demand services in the US this past Friday.
Finally, who is the British comedy duo back in action? Well, if you enjoyed Shaun of the Dead, or Hot Fuzz, or The World’s End, you’ll be stoked to find out that Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are teaming up once more for a series titled Truth Seekers.
More via ArsTechnica:
A group of part-time paranormal investigators teams up to uncover a deadly conspiracy in the first teaser for Truth Seekers, a forthcoming sci-fi/horror comedy series from Amazon…
Created by Pegg, Frost, James Serafinowicz, and Nat Saunders, the eight-episode series is envisioned as a cross between The X-Files and the British TV series Arthur C. Clarke’s Mysterious World.
Each episode will focus on a specific paranormal incident, a throwback to a classic monster-of-the-week format. Rather than going with pure spoof, Truth Seekers will apparently take its horror aspects seriously.
Judging by the trailer, not too seriously:
A date for release has still to be set, with the series to be released on Amazon Prime.
After that, I may just have to rewatch Shaun of the Dead. Never gets old.
