The success of The Last Dance has taught us that a well-made sports docuseries can actually reach a far wider audience than those who follow the sport itself.
People with little to interest in basketball, and even sport in general, could still enjoy a glimpse into the mindset of one of the greatest athletes of all time, with Michael Jordan’s ruthless pursuit of excellence at all costs quite something to witness.
That same pursuit of greatness has led to the likes of LeBron James, Usain Bolt, Tom Brady, and Alex Morgan, dominating their respective fields, and now a new docuseries wants to examine how certain moments helped define their legacies.
The first season contains seven mini-episodes, with untold stories from the athletes examining a pivotal moment in their career.
Greatness Code will premiere on Apple TV+ from July 10, reports Rolling Stone:
The other athletes participating include Olympic champions, sprinter Usain Bolt, swimmer Katie Ledecky and snowboarder Shaun White, as well as 11-time world champion surfer Kelly Slater.
Gratness Code was directed by Gotham Chopra. It was co-produced by Religion of Sports — which Brady co-founded with Chopra and former NFL player Michael Strahan — as well as James’ brand, Uninterrupted.
In other words, much like The Last Dance was very kind to Jordan’s legacy, expect the same to be true of those featured in Greatness Code.
Still, any insight from such a stellar line-up is worth a watch, so here’s the trailer:
