I’m trying to remember the last party that I went to and I’m failing dismally.
We’re at that point in the lockdown where the before times are the stuff of legends, and spoken about in hushed, revered tones.
Before we venture too far down the memory hole, however, we need to remember that a lockdown and physical distancing doesn’t have to be the end of fun.
In fact, the good people at Fitch & Leedes, alongside the SA Jewish Report are working hard to inject a little joy, and a celebration, into your life by bringing the party to you this coming Saturday, June 20, at 8PM.
The SA Jewish Report has been running some of the country’s largest and most successful online lockdown events, including a talk last week by international leadership guru, Simon Sinek, which filled a virtual stadium of 30 000 people.
The good times are now set to continue with some familiar favourites:
“Saturday night we throw a party”, says Howard Sackstein, Chairman of the SA Jewish Report.
“GoldFish join us for a vibey dance set live from the USA and multi-platinum singing sensation Lira, will be hooking in with her jazzy soul performance from Europe”.
Comedians and musicians will all grace the digital stage for this free online celebration of life.
L’Chaim, a Toast to the People of South Africa, will feature some of the country’s favourite comedians including Alan Committie, Barry Hilton and Loyiso Gola, as well as chart-topping rapper K.O, singing superstar Majozi, nostalgic crowd favourite PJ Powers, and Cape Town’s lockdown balcony singing sensation, international star of Evita, Danielle Bitton.
GoldFish is also on board all the way from the USA.
Sackstein explains that “this week we celebrated Youth Day and the sacrifices made by thousands of South Africans, young and old, black and white, Jew, Christian, Moslem, Hindu and atheist to ensure that today, we are all free. Even in difficult times let us not forget what we have achieved together, and what we still hope to achieve to build a remarkable South Africa for all those who live in it. So Saturday night grab a Fitch & Leedes and join us for a L’Chaim, a Toast to Life”.
Add that Fitch & Leedes to a shot or two of quality gin and you’re on your way to an excellent evening.
Once again, you can catch the event at 8PM, on Saturday June 20.
It’s free for all who register on www.excelacademyinc.com/sajr28.
