Oh, how we laughed.

Tennis fans in Long Island, New York, are understandably delighted that courts are reopening in certain areas, although this comes with strict safety conditions attached.

It was Nassau County Executive Laura Curran’s duties to explain some of these conditions, including how the tennis balls should be handled, and by whom.

Mashable felt it worth reporting on, and now here we are, talking about it, too:

Although she managed to get through most of the conference with a straight face, she broke when she told the audience to mark their balls to avoid mixing them up with other balls.

“To avoid confusion between whose balls are whose, you can use a marker, like a Sharpie, to mark out an X or to put someone’s initials on them,” Curran continued.

Bless her, because she managed to hold it together rather well:

Still makes more sense than some of the ministerial meetings we have had to sit through during lockdown.
