The National Coronavirus Command Council is commencing meetings today to discuss which restrictions will be eased under alert level 3, and which districts will be making the downgrade over the next few weeks.
The plan, according to the president, is to have most of the country operating at alert level 3 by the end of the month.
This means that a number of businesses closed during alert level 5 and alert level 4 could be reopened. There’s also the possibility that some of the restrictions on outside exercise could be eased.
As people return to work, more people will be out in the world, increasing the risk of transmission if strict hygiene and physical distancing measures aren’t adhered to.
CNN spoke to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Biology Professor Erin Bromage about the situations and activities that are most likely to put you or a loved one at risk.
Watch the interview, in full, here:
If you can’t be bothered to watch the video above, Bromage has outlined the same information in a blog post, titled ‘The Risks – Know Them – Avoid Them‘.
That one is well worth a read, covering hotspots like workplaces, which is particularly relevant in a South African context.
