Whilst Americans protest in the street and outside the offices of state governors, the coronavirus continues to spread.
Just under 1,4 million cases, and more than 80 000 deaths, at the time of writing, and both numbers which may actually be underreported.
Nobody is safe, including those who work inside the White House itself. Despite a number of cases among various officials, as well as Secret Service members, President Trump and Vice President Pence still don’t want to be seen wearing masks.
America’s handling of the coronavirus outbreak will be critiqued for years to come, and not in a favourable light.
On a recent episode of The Daily Social Distancing Show, Trevor Noah took a closer look at why wearing a mask is such a no-no for the country’s leaders.
If you can’t watch the entire video, be sure to watch from the 3:15 mark, and Trump meeting some war veterans:
Yeah, that wind and the plague, and nobody worries about me.
Not that Donnie is alone in bungling this one, because he can always rely on fellow ‘mop for hair’ Boris Johnson to join in the fun.
Johnson’s recent ‘Stay Alert’ messaging has been widely ridiculed, and it didn’t escape Noah’s attention, either.
That, and a look at more Americans who seem overly keen to catch the virus:
