A great deal of weddings and other events were cancelled when most of the world settled into some form of lockdown.
This has led to hordes of social media statuses featuring slideshows, usually posted on the intended day of the nuptials.
No judgement. I put wedding plans on hold as well. Maybe just ease up on the slideshows a little.
While an “I can’t wait to walk down the aisle” search on Twitter will inevitably bring up some wedding posts, it’s also trending for a different reason.
Mashable explains:
Roughly two months into many stay-at-home orders in the U.S., Twitter users are longing for the “before time,” when life was normal and we could walk around non-essential businesses without the risk of contracting or spreading the coronavirus… The real dream is wandering down the candle aisle at TJMaxx without a face mask so you can get a good whiff of each cherry blossom-inspired scent.
Now, “Can’t wait to walk down the aisle” is a nostalgic Twitter meme.
(TJMaxx is similar to Cotton On, or other stores that sell both clothing and candles.)
