There was a time when people were talking about the coronavirus as a great leveller, but the past few weeks have made it abundantly clear that is not the case.

We are known as the most unequal country in the world for a reason, and being confined to our homes during a national lockdown isn’t going to change that.

For the most vulnerable in our society, there have been allegations of corruption with food parcel deliveries, looting, and allegations of deadly force being used by SANDF members against citizens.

That’s before you consider that physical distancing is an impossibility, and staying at home doesn’t exactly involve Netflix and chill.
