They may have spent more than 15 years duking it out on the court, but Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal are good friends off it.
Two of the sport’s greatest ever competitors have a history of cracking each other up, and their charity endeavours have raised millions for good causes.
But, just like that parent you try and Zoom / Skype / WhatsApp video chat with, technology can take down even the best of us, which is part of why Rafa’s call to Roger yesterday got off to a rocky start.
Rafa struggled to add Roger, and other tennis players to the mix, leading to this chirp from Andy Murray:
Steady on, Andy.
Eventually, Rafa managed to add Roger, and they were pretty stoked to see each other.
You can’t fake this kind of affinity:
Once Roger departed, Rafa started chatting with Andy, who was done lurking in the comments section.
The Scot started with a dig at the Spaniard:
“Next time I am going to be more ready.” 😂@andy_murray enjoying @RafaelNadal’s instagram struggles 😅 pic.twitter.com/zaL0uo3Obm

From that point on, they spoke about Andy’s recovery from injury, and how he’s dealing with having two young kids around the home.
If you want to see Rafa’s chat with Andy, skip ahead to around 34:45 in the video below.
Towards the end of that video above, you can also see Rafa chatting with Marc Lopez, another professional tennis player from Spain.
Rafa and Roger, though – absolute legends.
