The one thing I’ve missed the most about going into the office is my morning cappuccino from Café du Cap.
We’ve probably mentioned this in previous articles, but 2OV runs on coffee. We’re basically all barely functioning before the first caffeine infusion of the day.
Now, the combination of working remotely, and my unwillingness to partake in the panic buying madness that preceded the 21 days of lockdown, means that by the time I managed to get to (and into) the shops, all I could find was the instant stuff – or as I like to call it, ‘instant sadness’.
Long story short, I’ve been drinking kak coffee, but thankfully that’s all about to change.
I recently discovered that Terbodore Coffee (the same stuff that they use at Café du Cap) is still delivering online orders during lockdown, having obtained the relevant CIPC certificate as an essential goods supplier.
Cue the hallelujah chorus.
According to their website, you can get your perfectly roasted coffee, capsules, cold brew and hot beverages delivered if you live in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Port Elizabeth, Durban or Bloemfontein.
I’m counting the minutes until this beautiful bag of Creme Brûlée flavoured happiness shows up at my door:
You’ll also be pleased to know that Terbodore has stringent procedures in place at the roastery and packing facility. This includes existing health and safety measures that include strict cleaning, sanitising, and anti-contamination protocols. They’re making sure that their customers and workers are as safe as possible during these difficult times.
Visit Terbodore’s website to stock up – it’s all pretty simple:
I always knew that coffee was an essential good.
I’m glad the government agrees.
