What do you have planned for tonight, a Friday night unlike any other in South Africa’s history?
It’s a question that you’re probably not going to hear much over the next few weeks. Most of us have the same plans – sitting around working systematically through all the content on whichever streaming service we subscribe to. Or, rewatching everything on the hard drive.
If all of that is sounding a little bleak, I have something that will liven up your days.
The World Health Organization looked at the fact that most countries are locked down and decided to put some effort into making everyone feel less lonely and bored at home.
Then Global Citizen stepped in to help with the ‘Together at Home’ series, guaranteed to add a little spice to your nights.
Each day, a new artist (or several) will bring their talents live to social media — they’ll take requests, talk about their process, sing some of their classics, and tell you how you can take action to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
Top live electronic act GoodLuck has just confirmed that they’ll be one of the first South African musical acts to join international superstars like Chris Martin, John Legend, Hozier, Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello, and more for the virtual concert series.
Here’s GoodLuck’s Juliet Harding:
“It’s such a privilege to be a voice of hope in these difficult times – I hope our fans around the world are safe and their families are healthy!”
“I can’t wait to share the joy of music with all of you!”
If you missed GoodLuck’s ‘Get Lucky Summer’ tour, here’s your chance to catch them in action.
To tune in, head on over to GoodLuck’s Instagram tonight (Friday, March 27) at 8PM for an electronic escape from the comfort of your couch.
To find out who else will be performing in your lounge, visit the Together at Home YouTube channel.
