The staff at 2OV are in the incredibly fortunate position of being able to continue our business operations from home, but not everybody is as lucky.
For those who aren’t in the same boat, and will lose the ability to work during the lockdown, the next 21 days are going to be helluva stressful.
I wouldn’t blame you if your first thought was to go into a state of hibernation, which might be why this video of a grizzly bear named Boo emerging groggily from his winter den has resonated with so many.
Boo lives in the Canadian Rockies, which spans the provinces of British Columbia and Alberta.
Put a smile on our faces, Boo:
The woman filming, and commenting so enthusiastically, is Nicole Gangnon, and she says she has been trying for eight years to capture this exact moment.
The Guardian reports:
“We’ve always set up trail cameras and our surveillance cameras,” Gangnon told the Guardian. “And it just seems like every time he decides to dig out, our technology fails us and we can never capture that moment.”
Born in the wild, Boo now lives alone at the Grizzly Bear Refuge, a 20-acre enclosure on the property of the Kicking Horse ski resort in near the town of Golden.
After his mother was killed by poachers nearly in 2002, Boo arrived at the refuge with his brother Cari (the pair were named after the Cariboo Mountains where they were found).
Sadly, Cari died during their first winter in the refuge, but Boo is still going strong.
Proof that rest, and plenty of it, is vital to good health.
However you intend to ride out the next 21 days, we’ll be sharing nonsense like this (and some useful information) to try and help you through.
