Meanwhile In Australia, Violinists Are Playing The Titanic Ship-Sinking Hymn In Toilet Paper Aisles [Video]

A pair of Australian violinists decided to pay homage to the Titanic, with a darkly humorous stab at everyone stockpiling toilet paper.

The sinking of the Titanic is arguably one of the world’s most well known disasters.

It gets used to drive the point home about a number of issues, like emigration and politics in South Africa.

More recently, a pair of Australian violinists decided to pay homage to the ship, with a darkly humorous stab at everyone stockpiling toilet paper, and panic buying.

Footage of the two women playing the sinking Titanic hymn, ‘Nearer My God To Thee’,  in a grocery store’s empty toilet paper aisle has gone viral. You’ll remember it from the film. It was played by the ship’s band as is sank:

According to BBC, the geniuses putting their musical training to good use are Bonnie Von Duyke and Emer Kinsella who hoped to bring “some light-hearted relief” to the world as tensions rise due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pair even sported black and white suits topped with real life-jackets.

There’s a metaphor about having enough space on your floating door for everyone, in there, somewhere.
