An evacuation in Nettleton Road, Clifton, has been ordered as Fire and Rescue Services struggle to contain the blaze that broke out in Cape Town on Sunday afternoon.
There are two fires destroying everything in their path – one below Tafelberg road and the other near Signal Hill.
According to News24, spokesperson Jermaine Carelse said there were more than 200 firefighters on the scene working tirelessly to get the fires under control.
Carelse added that there were confirmed reports of three dwellings being affected on Trek and Higgo roads.
According to the City of Cape Town, five houses have been affected by the fire as well as six vehicles have been burnt… along Signal Hill road.”
A local resident, Marcus Brain told 2oceansvibe that he believes that more than five houses have been affected.

If you’d like to donate refreshments for the firefighters, you can drop them off at the Roeland Street Fire Station.
The City asks that residents keep windows and doors shut, to prevent draft and reduce heat, and to limit exposure to the smoke.
