Don’t give me that ‘who is Nina Dobrev’ nonsense.
She most famously starred in The Vampire Diaries, but her film and TV credits are extensive.
Perhaps just as importantly, in this day and age, she has more than 19 million followers on Instagram, and those followers have been seeing a fair bit of Cape Town this past month.
To start, like every decent visitor, she struck a pose atop Lion’s Head on February 3:
Something tells me that the making of this photo could have featured on ‘Influencers in the Wild’.
We will let it slide, and it wasn’t long before Nina had popped in at Cheetah Outreach, an NPO promoting the survival of the free-ranging Southern African cheetah through environmental education and in-situ conservation.
Following that, she took to the water:
I shudder to think about the temperature of that water.
A day later, and Nina was spotted on the Camps Bay strip:
Nina is holidaying with Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Abigail Cowen, whose Instagram account is also full of pictures of the Mother City.
At this point, as a local, I have to weigh in with some advice.
Nina, you were so close, because just across the way I can see Café Caprice. You really should have popped in, grabbed some cocktails, and watched the world go by at a classically Capetonian speed.
Not that she needs to save the money, with an estimated net worth of around $10 million, but there’s also the Tuesday 2-for-1 burger special to consider.
I reckon she’s earned the carbs, given what she’s been up to:
That last post went live yesterday, but Nina’s latest Instagram Story shows her getting ready to board a flight.
What a shame – we’ll catch you at Café Caprice next time then, Nina.
