Back in 2016, the Royal Family announced that it was time to upgrade Buckingham Palace.
Now, just a few years into the project, they’re giving fans of the family and British taxpayers a peek at what’s been going on.
The Palace isn’t undergoing any major aesthetic changes, but it will be brought in line with contemporary health and safety standards.
It is, after all, a very old building, and the Poms love their health and safety.

The reservicing program is “vital” in order to mitigate the risk of fire and flood to the aging home. The upgrade will also ensure that the old (and potentially dangerous) electrical wiring throughout the house is brought “in line with current health and safety standards.”
The family added, “the refurbishment will also improve visitor access and make the Palace more energy efficient
